Vantasy Football

Mercedes-Benz Vans wanted to show their support for van drivers, offering them and their businesses help to tackle every twist and turn in the road.

THE PROBLEM
The Under the Bonnet report revealed delivery drivers spend up to 25 hours a week alone, have less than three conversations a week and how more than two-thirds battle anxiety.

OUR APPROACH
To support van drivers, we created a campaign to highlight loneliness and poor mental health among van drivers. As part of our research, professional van drivers identified team sport as one the top ways to help with wellbeing outside of their jobs.

THE SOLUTION
Using that insight, we launched Vantasy Football, the UK’s first five-a-side football tournament to bring van drivers together through team sport,  helping to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Spearheading the Mercedes-Benz Vantasy League, we enlisted the help of ex-footballer and mental health ambassador Chris Kamara to take on the role of our footie ‘mental health’ coach.
